Metanoia is an accrediting and organisational member for UKCP. As a result, Metanoia can manage and support UKCP registration on behalf of its students, trainees, graduates and alumni.
In order for Metanoia to support your UKCP registration, you must maintain an active UKCP registration.

Full Membership
For those who graduated from Metanoia before the 2025-26 academic year.
If you have completed the required qualifications, Metanoia can support your registration as either a Psychotherapist, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and/or a registered supervisor – see the attached document for more information.
Affiliate Membership
For those who do not require UKCP membership or registration (e.g. for those graduating from our BSc (Hons) Counselling) but wish to join the UKCP network.
Pre-Retirement
Membership
Those intending to retire within the next two academic years and are winding down their clinical practice can apply for Metanoia’s Pre-Retirement membership.
Leave of Absence
Membership
For those currently on sabbatical, parental leave or a break in practice and have notified both Metanoia and UKCP of this.
Graduate
For those who graduated in 2025-26 academic year and have not yet completed their registration.
Membership Fees
The fee for Metanoia membership is £120 per annum.
Membership is included in the current course fee for current Metanoia students, and trainees. Metanoia graduates do not have to pay the fee for their first year of membership post-graduation.
You will also have to pay fees to UKCP. More details can be found here:
