Alan has a wealth of people, culture and organisational development experience, from central and local government, private enterprise and more recently from the not for profit sector.
After developing his own expertise, Alan developed a modular approach to HR training for a national college upskilling local teams in all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Following this he spent over a decade in private enterprise rising from an operational regional manager to Director of Operations, providing him invaluable experience of both operations and real world people management.
Taking his learnings in organisational development, Alan joined the water regulator during a time of major transformation bringing the Chief Executive’s vision of a new way of working to life. During this time he studied and completed the level 7 organisational development programme, providing further theory to his already well established practice.
There followed further senior roles in local government leading on culture change and smarter ways of working, and then in the charity sector leading on establishing a commercial partnering approach between people and operational services.
Alan brings this approach to this important role at the Metanoia Institute where he is embedding the people fundamentals, supporting managers to further improve their people management skills and confidence, and establishing data led initiatives.
