Yesterday, Team Metanoia went the extra mile (13.1 of them to be precise) at the Ealing Half Marathon, raising vital funds to help more people access affordable counselling and psychotherapy through the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS).
A huge congratulations to Metanoia colleagues Dr Hannah Friend, Dr Peter Pearce and Rita Moran, who all completed the half marathon on Sunday, taking on the streets of Ealing with fantastic support from colleagues, friends, family, local schools, and the wider community along the route.
There was also an extraordinary achievement from Rita Moran, who finished as the fastest woman in her age category and the 13th fastest woman overall. This is an incredible result and one we are immensely proud to celebrate.
The race itself is only half the story, however, and we’d like to remind everyone why Hannah, Peter and Rita were putting in the hard yards in the first place: to raise money for the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS).
MCPS is one of London’s largest providers of low-cost therapy, supporting around 800 people over the past year alone. The service already provides high-quality, longer-term therapy for people who might otherwise struggle to access the support they need, but Team Metanoia wanted to help MCPS go even further.
Through the Ealing Half Marathon, the team helped raise vital funds that can be used to waive client fees and help even more people access the service, while still ensuring the high standards that responsible therapy requires
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated to and shared our fundraiser, and of course to Hannah, Peter and Rita for taking on the challenge.
